Forget tummy tucks and nose jobs — there’s a new hot plastic surgery in town, and this time, it’s all about the arms. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons announced that the number of patients receiving upper arm lifts, have shot up a whopping 4,378% in just over a decade, making it the rising star of the plastic surgery world.
The two different surgeries that make up arm lifts– brachioplasty, for those with loose or excess skin, and liposuction, for those without it — target that “jiggly” fat on the under side of the upper arm between the armpit and the elbow. The later leaves patients with a visible, permanent scar — seen by surgery-goers as a perfectly fine tradeoff.
