graduation gift =cosmetic surgery

Plastic surgery becomes a more common graduation gift
Last year, 8,199 U.S. teenagers aged 18 and 19 had breast enlargements—more than triple the number in 2001, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Second most common graduation gift - nose job
While teens have been getting nose jobs for years, the procedures have lately become popular graduation gifts, as have liposuction treatments and even breast augmentations. There's a lot of pressure on young people to look a certain way, and when kids go away to college, it's a chance to start all over

Beware of not board certified plastic surgeons

Baja closes clinic where U.S. woman died.
Typical 3 common things: "small" Liposuction performed under local anesthesia by a general practitioner not board certified in plastic surgery and surgery performed in overseas not-accredited clinic. Remember do not fall for cheap surgery performed by people with questionablecredentials in shady , not accredited facilities. By the way it happens in the USA as well plenty of "practitioners" performing liposuction and cosmetic surgery. It is your body - protect it!

Economy slows cosmetic procedures only slightly

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, based here, nearly 10 million cosmetic procedures were performed in the United States in 2009. That’s down just 2 percent from 2008.

Nonsurgical procedures — the most popular of which are Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA, Allergan) injections, laser hair removal, microdermabrasion and chemical peels — accounted for 85 percent of the total. The remainder comprised surgical procedures such as breast augmentation, liposuction, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty and abdominoplasty.

Buyer beware!

Buyer beware!
A recent study involving 1,876 cosmetic practitioners in Southern California found that only 495 had plastic surgery training. Although it is not illegal for untrained doctors to perform certain cosmetic procedures, such as facial fillers and liposuction, the lack of training can increase the risk of serious injuries. same thing in Illinois.
