Hair transplantation numbers are up

lackluster worldwide economic growth in 2010 did not put the brakes on the number of people investing in hair restoration surgery to treat hair loss.
Approximately 279,381 hair restoration procedures were performed worldwide in 2010, up 11 percent from 2008. This increase coincides with a significant jump in the total number of hair restoration patients worldwide – from 811,363 patients in 2008 to 923,599 patients in 2010.

“Hair is an integral part of our identity, and hair loss has been shown to have a negative impact on a person’s overall quality of life,”
